Hello Hollywood

Have you seen the J.Crew Spring 2011 look book? Le sigh. Never have I been so in love with old Hollywood glamour or felt a fiercer need to wear stripes.

For a moment I almost wanted to move to LA.

Length and Width

Now you can letterpress too!

Learning to letterpress is on my list of 30 things to do before I turn 30, but I haven't been able to check it off just yet. Living in the quaint little town that I do has its charms, but it does not give me ready access to letterpress classes. Can you believe it?

THIS however is the genius solution that I plan to employ for the duration of my time in the land of orange groves and 100-year-old houses.

Even people like me in their crafting infancy can pull this off!

I have a new nephew!

Last Monday at around 11:15 pm, my sister-in-law gave birth to the newest member of our family - 6 lb. 3 oz. Matthew Lyle Frost.

Congratulations Larrry and Kaylene on your beautiful son, and to Mira and Aspynn on their new little brother!

Red goes with leopard...

... because red goes with everything.

Red or black?

Happy Weekend!

Hello darlings! Happy Friday!

Husband and I are headed to the beach this evening to enjoy the warm weather (I heart CA), have a bonfire and celebrate a friend's birthday. And then tomorrow I'll be heading to a Relief Society conference. Not a bad way to spend a weekend if you ask me.

What are you up to? Sparkly plans and spikey heels? Or comfy plans and cozy blankets?

Hollywood Sign

Did you know that the Hollywood sign originally read "Hollywoodland"? It was meant to be a temporary billboard for a housing development in the hills in 1923. The "land" bit the dust in 1949 when the sign underwet a facelift afer years of deterioration.

There's something about Italian boys

When I worked in New York, 75% of of the guys I worked with were Italian. Sassy, sexy, bad-ass, stubborn, swaggering ego-maniacal Italians. Bless them.

Alexandra Ferguson Pillows

Remember this cheeky pillow from last week? The maker of said pillow, Alexandra Ferguson, has a whole entire Etsy shop full of fluffy felt pillows that will make you grin. I know I did. Here are a couple of my favorites:

Dapper Gents

I'm a sucker for those hats! And I'm totally digging the striped socks.

Spain will never be the same again

My sister is in Spain! She is riding wooden burros, eating things that still have eyes and stealth photographing cathedrals. You can read about her adventures, or just laugh along with her pictures.

Learn to Be Still by The Eagles

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. It helps me to get calm and get my head back on straight, you know?

On and On by Erykah Badu

DWR Chair

Husband tried out this chair at Design Within Reach when we were in Santa Barbara last weekend. He loooved it and I have added it to our list of "Top things to get when we are 50 and rolling in it."

Dear Vienna, I miss you. Can we still be friends?

We go together like...

Fun, charming and cheeky - this is my new standard for stationary. These certainly qualify.
