Muir Woods

On the way from Santa Rosa to San Francisco, Husband and I took a side trip to Muir Woods.

We wandered around the paths and over the bridges for almost an hour. It was stunning - the towering redwoods, the bright green moss and ferns and the little brook.

The chance to hike through those mountains on a regular basis is a powerful enticement for moving to the Bay Area.

  1. I grew up in Fairfield, about an hour and a half from Muir Woods. This place is sacred to me. It is ancient; timeless. A cathedral, where even the birds are awed to silence. It is holy, and ethereal, made more so by the green glow of light filtered through the thick canopy of leaves.
